Hampshire's Solent Shore Village

Solent Way

Street guide, Hill Head

The Solent Way is a long-distance walking path that runs for approximately 60 miles along the Hampshire coast from Milford-on-Sea to Emsworth. The section passing through Hill Head is one of the most popular stretches, following the clifftop and beach from Meon Shore in the west, past the harbour and along the coast towards Hook and Warsash to the east. The path is not a road in the conventional sense but is a well-used public right of way that forms part of the coastal landscape of Hill Head. Walkers, joggers and dog owners use the path throughout the year, and it provides access to some of the best views and wildlife-watching spots in the area. The path passes close to Titchfield Haven Nature Reserve and offers vantage points over the Meon estuary. The Solent Way is maintained by Hampshire County Council and is generally well signposted along its length through Hill Head.
