Hampshire's Solent Shore Village

Osborne View Road

Street guide, Hill Head

Osborne View Road takes its name from the views across the Solent to Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, Queen Victoria's former residence, which can be seen from the Hill Head clifftops on clear days. The road runs close to the seafront in the eastern part of Hill Head and leads to the Osborne View pub and restaurant, one of the village's best-known landmarks. Properties along the road are residential, with some commanding sea views. The road is popular with visitors as well as residents, particularly on fine days when people head to the pub or the nearby beach. Osborne View Road has an open, coastal character, and the views from the higher ground are among the finest in the village. The road connects to Hill Head Road and is within easy reach of the harbour and the start of the coastal path.
