Meon Road
Street guide, Hill Head
Meon Road runs from the western part of Hill Head towards Meon Shore and the mouth of the River Meon. The road provides one of the main access points to the beach and the Solent Way coastal path at the western end of the village. Properties along Meon Road include a mix of residential houses and some chalets or holiday homes closer to the shore. The western end of the road opens onto the shingle beach and the views across the Meon estuary to Titchfield Haven. This is a popular area for dog walkers, birdwatchers and sea anglers, and the road can see a fair amount of visitor traffic on fine weekends. Meon Road has a slightly different character from the more built-up streets in the village centre, with a more open, coastal feel as it approaches the shore.
