Lee Ground

Lee Ground is a lane on the western fringe of Hill Head, close to the boundary with Lee-on-the-Solent. The lane passes through a scattered residential area that retains a slightly rural character despite the suburban development nearby. Properties along Lee Ground are generally detached houses on sizeable plots, many with established gardens. The lane is quiet, with very little through traffic, and has an atmosphere quite different from the more suburban streets elsewhere in Hill Head. Lee Ground is close to the former HMS Daedalus site, the Royal Navy air station that closed in 1996 and has since been partially redeveloped. The lane provides a connection between Hill Head and Lee-on-the-Solent, and residents here have easy access to both communities.
