Stubbington Lane is the main road connecting Hill Head to the neighbouring village of Stubbington, and the area along its length forms a key residential corridor. The lane runs roughly north to south, with houses on both sides for much of its length and several side roads branching off into quieter cul-de-sacs and crescents. The housing is a mix of styles and periods, from interwar bungalows to more modern detached houses built in the 1970s and 1980s. At the Hill Head end, the lane passes the local shops and connects to Hill Head Road. Moving north towards Stubbington, the character becomes slightly more suburban, with larger plots and established gardens. There are grass verges along much of the route and mature trees in the gardens of adjacent houses give the area a green, settled appearance. Peak Lane, another important local road, connects nearby, giving access to the wider road network.
